Restylane and Juvéderm are two of the most popular dermal fillers on the market today. Dermal filler treatments improve skin contours. Personal appearance is often enhanced when volume is added to the face; improving wrinkling and depressed or hollow areas. In addition, dermal fillers are used to cosmetically enlarge lips, improve the folds or lines that form around the mouth, and reduce the appearance of scars.
At Skin Solutions, we utilize two types of dermal fillers: hyaluronic acid-based and collagen-based products. Both hyaluronic acid and collagen are naturally present in all of our bodies. Hylan B, Restylane®, and Juvéderm™ are stabilized forms of hyaluronic acid. These large-molecule products are used in the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. To correct milder superficial facial wrinkles and folds, we use the small-molecule fillers CosmoPlast™ and CosmoDerm™, both of which are collagen based. Prior to these procedures, topical and/or injected anesthesia is used to reduce the discomfort of injection.
